Seasonal influenza and respiratory syncytial virus (RSV) pose a significant burden to the US healthcare system, with over 8% of the population being infected each year. Frontline healthcare workers and medical staff are frequently exposed to viral pathogens, placing them at risk for infection as well. This short course provides an overview of flu and RSV symptoms and transmission patterns, and serves as a guide for how to best prepare staff and facilities to ward off the spread of viral infections. Learners will review their knowledge of best practices for virus prevention and work through relevant patient-care scenarios.

This course aligns with the Oklahoma Secretary of State Administrative code Title 310. It provides training to help organizations in all settings comply with Section 310:667-5-4 - Employee and/or worker health examinations: Okla. Admin. Code ? 310L667-5-4
