A need exists to improve understanding about and the application of the ANCC NCPD Accredited Provider Policies to the MedBridge NPU processes. This course will improve nurse planners' ability to review courses accurately and effectively while adhering to the ANCC standards and process guidelines.

Learning Objectives
  • Correlate the ANCC NCPD Accredited Provider mission and values to the mission and values of the MedBridge NPU
  • Distinguish MedBridge NPU areas for improvement based the NCPD Accreditation Conceptual Framework
  • Identify a professional practice gap as defined under the ANCC educational design process
  • Determine learning outcome(s) relevant to nursing practice
  • Examine evaluation data to determine whether the individual activity met the learning outcomes
  • Analyze summative evaluation data of an activity to guide future activities

1. Overview and Background of ANCC Accreditation

This chapter covers the essence of ANCC accreditation. The content aims to enhance the MedBridge NPU’s understanding of the Mission and Values of ANCC accreditation and how they align with the MedBridge Mission and Values.

2. ANCC NCPD Accredited Provider Program Policies and the MedBridge NPU

In this chapter, learners will develop working knowledge of the structure and responsibilities of an NCPD Accredited Provider Program and one’s individual role within the MedBridge NPU. Here, we will specifically highlight the process improvement initiatives surrounding the Self-Study review.

3. Educational Design Process: Determining the Professional Practice Gap and Nursing Learning Outcomes

This chapter presents information relevant to the NPU’s establishment of professional practice gaps and nursing learning outcomes. Learners will take away valuable knowledge and skills regarding how MedBridge identifies, selects, and targets specific gaps to elicit impactful learning outcomes.

4. Bringing It All Together: Ensuring High-Quality Reviews of Enduring Materials at MedBridge

In this final chapter, we will bring it full circle and discuss the overall process for planning and reviewing NCPD courses at MedBridge. Requirements for reviewing enduring activities and how summative evaluation data is used to analyze the outcomes of an activity and guide future activities will be discussed.
