Following a comprehensive evaluation of the patient presenting with shoulder impingement, problem areas are identified that therapy will address. This course will review how to treat those deficits found in evaluation that are limiting your patient from returning to their daily activities. Treatment techniques to address soft tissue imbalances through all stages of rehabilitation will be demonstrated. Evidenced-based therapeutic exercises will also be discussed to maximize your patient's strength, endurance, and functional use of the involved shoulder. This course will focus on treatment of patients that are not high level overhead athletes, but studies and techniques used to treat this population will be introduced.

Jennifer Dodson graduated from the Florida International University occupational therapy program in 1998. She has been practicing outpatient rehabilitation in Jacksonville, Florida, ever since. In 2002, she was honored to be chosen as a fellow for the Evelyn Mackin Hand Therapy Fellowship at the Philadelphia Hand Center. She became a certified hand therapist in 2004.…
