Presented by Mary Ann Roelke

Description

Symptoms after concussion(s) can significantly impact a person’s ability to think, learn/work, sleep, regulate their mood, and engage in their everyday activities. Concussion-related research changes quickly. There is a need for practical, evidence-based education that translates research into clinical practice. This webinar focuses on updates to the 2023 sports concussion consensus article and the 2024 military return-to-duty clinical recommendations highlighting information for clinical decision making.

By the end of this intermediate-level webinar, rehabilitation practitioners in occupational therapy, physical therapy, speech and language pathology, athletic training, nurses, and social workers working with adults in a hospital or outpatient sports, military, and/or civilian settings, will be able to apply contemporary definitions of concussion, examine return-to-activity recommendations across different contexts, and implement effective patient education plans.
