Evidence-Informed Evaluation of Shoulder Impingement Syndrome

Description

Therapists often receive referrals for patients with shoulder pain that limits their ability to use their arm with meaningful occupations. Therapists may also receive referrals for diagnoses distal to the shoulder but then observe pain when patients return to using their entire upper extremity.

Therapists
must be knowledgeable in the anatomy, biomechanics, and arthrokinematics of the shoulder, know which special tests to perform, and use patient-reported outcome measures to establish an effective treatment plan for those with shoulder impingement syndrome. Providing a comprehensive patient evaluation is essential to establishing an effective treatment plan, and to perform a comprehensive evaluation of a patient with shoulder impingement syndrome, the therapist must be familiar with current evidence to ensure all aspects of the person and factors that contribute to shoulder impingement syndrome are considered.

This webinar will synthesize current evidence as it relates to evaluation and is applicable to therapists in all practice settings.
