Managing biomedical waste effectively reduces exposure to potentially infectious materials. This course highlights Florida's definition of biomedical waste and provides basic steps for healthcare workers who must handle it and dispose of it safely. It also details the additional responsibilities of staff who provide healthcare in the home.
This course helps to meet the training requirements of Section 381.0098, Florida Statutes, and Chapter 64E-16, of the Florida Administrative Code (FAC) as well as OSHA's Bloodborne Pathogens Standard, 29 CFR 1910.1030.
