In this course, the first in the Dementia Care Basics series, learners will define dementia and take a deeper look at the most common type of dementia - Alzheimer's disease. Learners will also explore warning signs and indicators of Alzheimer's disease, its typical progression and an overview of intervention strategies. The Dementia Care Basics series is created in alignment with the CMS conditions of participation for long term care facilities and section 6121 of the Affordable Care Act.
