1. Anatomy and Biomechanics of the Hip Complex
Chapter 1 will provide an overview of skeletal anatomy and biomechanical principles related to functional movement at the hip complex in adults.
2. Clinical Features and Pathogenesis
Chapter 2 will provide the participant with knowledge of common non-arthritic hip disorders and the associated pathogenesis and clinical presentation.
3. Screening for Referral
This chapter will teach the participant to interpret salient findings from the history and physical exam to aide in generating an appropriate referral.
4. Physical Examination and Interpretation
Chapter 4 will instruct the physical therapist in conducting a systematic examination for the patient with non-arthritic hip pain.
5. Intervention
Chapter 5 will review the current state of the evidence related to common non-arthritic hip disorders and educate the participant on appropriate management strategies guided by information obtained from the history and physical examination.
