An emergency action plan is an index of procedures needed whenever a disaster or medical emergency occurs. This course will provide an overview of the types of emergencies health care facilities may encounter, including natural disasters like fires, hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards and flooding. This course will also cover other crisis situations like bomb threats, active shooters, chemical spills and medical emergencies. Learners will be shown what steps to take and the roles their staff will perform during a crisis.
This course meets the regulatory standards outlined in 29 CFR 1910.38
