This course addresses the need to inform patients in hospice care about their rights, including those related to advance directives, patient grievances and complaints, and conveying of charges for care. It also covers other hospice patient rights that staff and volunteers should know, including patients’ right to respect, to participation in their care, and to effective pain management.

Objectives:

3) Identify other key rights of patients in hospice care
4) Describe hospice providers’ role in supporting patient rights

This course has been certified by ACHC, and verified to align with the CHAP Hospice Standards of Excellence HPFC 2.D in Hospice Patient/Family-Centered Care.
