This is a short course on chemical safety in the healthcare workplace, which covers the identification and understanding of chemical hazards. The featured scenario highlights the interpretation of a chemical label using the globally standardized system of classification and labeling of chemicals (GHS). The requirements for and contents of safety data sheets are also detailed, including an exercise where learners will have the opportunity to practice interpreting safety data sheets (SDS) for routine and emergency purposes.
