This course provides information for all staff about the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) process in skilled nursing facilities. QAPI involves a preventive and collaborative approach to finding root causes of persistent problems in providing quality care and proposing and implementing system-wide solutions. In this course, staff will see an example QAPI process in action, learn what QAPI means and why it is important, examine fundamental elements, and explore ways they might get involved.

This course helps meet the regulatory standards for skilled nursing facilities outlined in Section 6102(c) of the Affordable Care Act and 42 CFR § 483.75.
