This brief course features scenarios highlighting the application of standard precautions in the healthcare workplace. It is designed to be a refresher course for annual training on infection control, and it includes separate pathways for clinical and nonclinical staff. The course also includes relevant information on infection transmission and the common signs and symptoms associated with infection.

This course has been certified by ACHC, and it was designed in accordance with the CDC's recommendations on infection prevention and control in healthcare. It provides training to help organizations in all settings comply with the OSH Act of 1970 29 U.S.C. ? 654(a), and it helps meet the following federal regulations related to hospice, home health, long-term care, and hospital services: 42 C.F.R. ? 418.60(a), 42 C.F.R. ? 484.70(a), 42 CFR ? 483.80(a)(2)(iii);(vi), 42 CFR ? 482.42(a)(2).
