Emergency Preparedness in Hospice

This course covers the steps that hospice organizations need to take to develop an emergency plan plus policies and procedures as a result of the plan. You’ll also learn about essential elements of the hospice emergency communication plan and required training on and testing of emergency procedures.

Objectives:
1) Describe the role of hospice staff in a disaster situation
2) List examples of disasters that a hospice organization may need to plan for
3) Identify key elements of hospice emergency planning
4) Explain important areas of communication for hospice staff in an emergency
5) Describe fundamental emergency policies and procedures

This course has been certified by CHAP, and verified to align with the CHAP Hospice Standards of Excellence HSEP.1.I and HSEP.5.D 4 in Hospice Emergency Preparedness. It also provides training to help organizations meet the following federal regulation related to hospice services:
