This course provides a practical overview of what front-line PACE staff need to know about documentation and reporting in the PACE framework. Learners will review documentation standards that support safe care and interdisciplinary team (IDT) decision-making, required reporting concepts that help the program track risk, and how reports feed into Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) efforts to reduce repeat incidents. The course also introduces common fraud, waste, and abuse risks in the PACE environment and reinforces how to escalate concerns through internal compliance channels.
Course Objectives
1. Describe the PACE program reporting requirements
2. Explain key documentation standards and how these support participant care, program integrity, and regulatory compliance
3. Summarize how PACE uses Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) data and other required reports, and how staff contribute to internal QAPI activities
4. Identify examples of fraud, waste, and abuse relevant to PACE, and outline how to report concerns through designated internal channels
This training aligns with federal PACE requirements under 42 CFR Part 460, including compliance oversight, program integrity, quality improvement (QAPI), and data collection, record maintenance, and reporting requirements.
