- Describe the physical impacts of common chronic illnesses in older adults and how they interact with the aging process
- Recognize signs of cognitive decline, depression, and anxiety, and understand the emotional impacts of illness on older adults
- Demonstrate effective communication strategies and empathetic interactions with patients and families
- Apply culturally competent care by acknowledging and respecting patients’ cultural, religious, and personal beliefs
- Support individualized care plans by observing and reporting changes in condition to the care team
