Chapters & learning objectives
1. Health and Participation
In this chapter we'll discuss the historical perspective of the ICF model as it relates to human rights of children, particularly children and youth with disabilities. Following an examination of the ICF framework and the application to children, we'll evaluate the role of participation for children and youth with disabilities.
2. Measurement of Participation for Children and Youth
In this chapter we'll examine strategies to impact contextual factors influencing participation. By comparing the role of team members in identifying contextual factors, we'll be able to analyze the factors that influence participation within the ICF framework as it applies to children and youth with disabilities.
3. Targeting Participation
This course will end with identifying strategies to overcome the barriers and embrace facilitators to participation. Participants will be able to evaluate perceived barriers to children and youth with disabilities participating in community-based programs. We'll end the course with a question and answer session with various youth participants with disabilities.
