Clinicians can struggle feeling comfortable supporting the child and family through the challenges associated with tube weaning. There are limited opportunities for clinicians to learn about tube weaning through specific case study examples. This intermediate-level course aims to provide clinicians with specific examples and case studies. Participants will be able to apply strategies from the case studies to their own patients.

Learning Objectives
  • Select one therapeutic intervention that targets eating and swallowing skill development in a child with prolonged tube-feeding
  • Determine two strategies to overcome barriers in the tube-weaning process
  • Analyze the impact of social determinants of health on tube-weaning outcomes
