Part 2 of this 2-part webinar series on diabetes in older adults explores the comorbidities and sequelae of long-standing diabetes. Clinicians will learn current best practices for assessing and managing neuropathy, retinopathy, cardiovascular disease, and peripheral circulation issues in individuals with diabetes.

  • Prepare assessment approaches for identifying neuropathy, retinopathy, cardiovascular, and peripheral circulatory conditions in older adults with diabetes
  • Analyze medical test/procedure results used in the diagnosis and clinical management of neuropathy, cardiovascular disease, and peripheral circulatory disorders
  • Implement American Diabetes Association (ADA) standards of practice when prescribing physical activity to mitigate the risks associated with diabetic comorbidities
  • Develop patient education strategies for foot care management in individuals with diabetes
  • Apply chronic disease management strategies to support health management and promote safe engagement in physical activity for older adults with diabetes
