This course provides an overview of emergency preparedness procedures within the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). This course prepares frontline PACE staff to deliver care safely across service delivery settings—including the PACE center, participant homes, transportation, and other care environments. Learners will focus on preventing avoidable safety risks in the care environment and on responding confidently in emergencies. The course covers both medical emergencies (care-related crises) and nonmedical emergencies (events that disrupt services or create unsafe conditions), with an emphasis on practical actions, escalation, and follow-up.

Course Objectives
1. Describe how PACE emergency preparedness requirements cover both medical and nonmedical emergencies
2. Identify immediate actions to keep participants and staff safe in home care, transportation, and PACE center settings
3. Explain key follow-up steps: documentation, reporting, and updating plans across the four phases of emergency management (mitigation, preparedness, response, recovery)

This training aligns with federal PACE requirements under 42 CFR Part 460, including service delivery setting safety expectations and emergency preparedness requirements.

Estimated Runtime: 20 minutes
