    About this Cohort Learning Series

We believe great learning happens in layers. After building a foundation of core skills, rehabilitation professionals often want more: deeper discussion, advanced clinical insight, and opportunities to apply concepts alongside experienced mentors and peers.

This Cohort Learning Series with Phil Plisky, PT, DSc, ATC, CSCS, and Nate Denning, PT, DPT, SCS, CSCS, RSCC, delivers a guided learning experience that combines seven on-demand courses with three live mentorship webinars. Move through the curriculum in stages, submit questions ahead of each session, and engage in interactive Q&A designed to strengthen clinical reasoning and support confident patient care.

Throughout the program, you’ll learn how to manage workload, build sport-specific progressions, and bring these concepts together to support a safe and effective return to performance.

    Who is this for?

    • PTs, OTs, ATs, and CSCSs interested in building or advancing their sports performance rehabilitation skills
    • Clinicians who work with athletes across different sports, injuries, and stages of recovery
    • Rehabilitation professionals seeking more confidence progressing athletes from rehabilitation back to performance
    • Practitioners who value reflection, discussion, and hands-on application

The Sports Performance Rehabilitation series runs from October–December 2026.

    A letter from the instructors

Hi everyone! We’re Phil Plisky and Nate Denning, and we’re excited to invite you to our new Sports Performance Rehabilitation Cohort Learning Series with Medbridge.

For years, our professions have talked about "bridging the gap" between rehabilitation and performance. But if we're being completely frank, we realized something long ago: we don't need to bridge the gap, we need to stop causing it. Rehabilitation, performance, and injury prevention aren't separate buckets. They are a unified continuum, which means performance mindset and training must start on day one.

We know how overwhelming this can feel in a busy clinic. You're constantly balancing biological tissue healing timelines and physiological biomarkers while trying to program across six essential performance domains: readiness, strength, power, speed, agility, and metabolic systems. You don't need a 10,000-square-foot turf field or elite strength coach secrets to do this well. You just need a simplified, systematic process that allows you to begin with the end in mind.

That’s why we built this cohort around real-world cases rather than high-level concepts. Together, we’ll walk step-by-step through four distinct cases:

    • A 17-year-old baseball pitcher recovering from a UCL repair with internal brace
    • A 13-year-old hypermobile volleyball player managing chronic shoulder instability
    • A 15-year-old multi-sport athlete working back from an ACL reconstruction
    • A Division II basketball player navigating an acute grade 2 ankle sprain

To help you get your reps in, you’ll work through on-demand courses packed with practical coaching cues, followed by three live mentorship webinars where we build on that foundation together. You’ll be able to submit your real-world questions and challenges ahead of each live session so we can provide personalized, guided mentorship.

Our goal isn't to add more steps to your day; it’s to give you a clear, actionable system so you can guide your athletes back to competition and performing at their best. We’d love to have you join us.
