Megan Kenney

Megan Kenney is an occupational therapist who graduated from the University of Pittsburgh’s School of Health and Rehab Science Occupational Therapy program in 2012. She currently works with UPMC Centers for Rehab Services as the chronic pain program director and assistant outpatient occupational therapy program director. Megan also works with the University of Pittsburgh’s occupational therapy department as an adjunct instructor. Megan has specialized in chronic pain management for 8 of her 10 years as a clinician and, in that time, has developed multiple educational courses for students, staff, and practitioners; has developed a comprehensive occupational therapy chronic pain program offered at 10 outpatient clinical sites; and has participated in numerous chronic pain conferences and meetings at the national level. Megan has published several papers related to the OT’s role in chronic pain management and has received awards related to her role in education and advocacy for OTs in chronic pain, including the Occupational Therapy Alumni Award of Excellence from the University of Pittsburgh, the OT Award of Recognition from Pennsylvania Occupational Therapy Association, and the Distinguished Alumni Award from the University of Pittsburgh. Megan is also active in chronic pain research and has acted as lead therapist and principal investigator on studies related to chronic conditions.
