Which seats have episodic billing?
Only seats with access to Care products (HEP or Pathways) follow the seat + episodic model. Education-only plans are not impacted, as they continue to provide unlimited access to our education library.
What is the difference in plans?
We offer Care plans and Medbridge plans that combine access to both our Care and Educate products. Within those, you can choose between two tiers:
- Essentials: Access to Home Exercise Programs + Patient-Reported Outcomes (PROs), with your organization receiving a pool of 100 HEP episodes included per seat per year. Since episodes are pooled across your organization, you can balance high utilizing clinicians with lower utilizers. Episodes used beyond your pool will be charged at $1.50/episode.
- Elite: Unlimited HEP episodes, plus access to Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM) and Pathways.
What counts as an episode?
For Essentials, when you add the first exercise, education or PRO to your home exercise program it will be deducted from your organization’s pool of episodes. All additional changes to that episode are free of charge. Episodes used beyond your organization’s pool will be charged at $1.50 per episode.
For Elite, when you enable RTM for a home exercise program AND the patient digitally engages* in the program you will be charged for that episode. Similarly, when you assign a pathway and the patient engages digitally* in that pathway, you will be charged for that episode.
* Digital engagement is when a patient logs in to that episode.
How is usage calculated?
Once an Essentials or Elite episode is completed, the system deducts that episode from your included episodes of that type. If you have no remaining included episodes, then the system will mark that episode as billable towards your account. You'll be charged on a monthly basis for the billable episodes accrued towards your account.
What happens if my organization exceeds 100 HEP episodes per seat per year?
If you’re on an Essentials plan, your allotment of 100 HEP episodes per seat are pooled across your organization. You will only be billed once you surpass the total allotment across the team. This allows for variability between your clinician usage.
If your organization regularly exceeds an average of 100 episodes on average per seat, the Elite plan may provide simpler, more predictable pricing.
How do RTM and Pathways pricing work in Elite?
Elite plans include access to Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM) and Pathways guided programs. Both are billed at $10 per episode. HEP usage in Elite remains unlimited.
Where do I find my quote to view my renewal pricing?
Your renewal quote is delivered via email as part of your renewal communication. At this time, quotes cannot be accessed through the Medbridge portal. Please reach out to your dedicated account manager or renewal.support@medbridge.com if you have questions or need help accessing your quote.
When will episodic billing go into effect?
Episodic tracking begins once your organization is moved to the One Care platform—either at your renewal date or sooner if you choose to upgrade before renewal. Episodic billing begins when your organization has used up its allotment of episodes available with your purchase.
Can I track my episode usage during the year?
Yes. We will provide visibility into your episode usage so you can monitor how many episodes have been used by each clinician seat.
Do unused episodes roll over?
No. Any unused episodes do not roll over into the following year. Each seat includes a fresh allotment of 100 episodes per seat annually under Essentials.
Can I mix Essentials and Elite seats?
Yes. Organizations may choose a mix of Essentials and Elite seats. For example, you can assign Elite seats to high-volume clinicians and Essentials seats to those with lower usage.
What happens if I add or remove seats during the year?
You can add seats at any time. License fees for new seats will be prorated, as will be the 100 included HEP episodes per Essentials seat. You can only remove seats during your renewal window.
Are PROs included in Essentials?
Yes. Patient-Reported Outcomes (PROs) are included in both Essentials and Elite plans.
Can I downgrade from Elite back to Essentials?
All upgrades apply for the full term of your subscription. You may adjust your plan tier at your next renewal window, but not during the current subscription year.
