The course will provide a basic understanding of what a functional capacity evaluation (FCE) entails and the theoretical basis and models associated with the evaluation. The course will identify the specific components of the FCE and what specific tests are associated with the FCE. There will be demonstrations associated with some of the specific testing parameters, along with the outcomes associated with the completion of the test. The use of FCEs will also be examined during the course, including how they can impact the patient and set up further care. A clinician who supported and implemented the use of FCEs in the clinic setting will be interviewed to offer strategies, tips, and challenges correlating to the use of FCEs.
