As more of our population ages, we need to sharpen our ability to both identify and prevent falls and injuries in the home. Every year the statistics show that more and more of our aging population are experiencing catastrophic changes in life as a result of falls in the home. This has not only taken a toll on the patient’s independence, but also on the Medicare benefit as more money is being utilized specifically to treat the elderly patient as a result of an injury associated with a fall. This course will assist in identification of these types of patient's at risk, how to reduce their risk, and thereby improve the older adult’s quality of life.
