Chapters & learning objectives
1. A Primer on Certification Testing
Even with excellent preparation and knowledge, some people experience a lack of test-taking savvy that can negatively impact desired results, such as those on certification exams. This chapter will coach participants in how test questions are developed, how to recognize distractors in exam items, and how to best prepare for success on the CRRN® certification test.
2. Preparing for the CRRN® Exam
This chapter helps participants familiarize themselves with the outline and structure of the CRRN® exam. Domains tested on the certification exam and sample questions will be analyzed. Resources reviewed that can be used for preparation include websites, textbooks, flash cards, and practice tests.
3. Test-Taking Strategies: Making a Personal Plan
Emotional and mental preparation is also important for test-taking success. This chapter will give strategies on test-taking success beyond knowledge of subject matter and encourage participants to develop their own plan for success.
