Katelyn Swiader
MS Ed, CCC-SLP
Katelyn Swiader is a speech-language pathologist specializing in vocal health and performance with more than 15 years of voice coaching experience. She holds a master’s degree in speech-language pathology and a bachelor’s in vocal performance. With a background as a professional singer, she provides comprehensive voice care for singers and speakers at Sound Waves Voice & Communication (www.soundwavesvc.com) through private coaching and workshops. As a speech-language pathologist, Katelyn is the voice specialist for the laryngology team at Old Dominion University’s Eastern Virginia Medical School’s ENT Center. In the clinic, she focuses on voice, swallowing, and upper airway disorders, with a special emphasis on the professional voice user.
As a master coach with PNMedical, she conducts regular in-services to educate clinicians on respiratory muscle training using The Breather devices. Katelyn also participates in outreach events, educating young performers on vocal anatomy and healthy practices. In early 2025, Katelyn launched Sing, Play, Say!, a YouTube and social channel resource (@singplaysay) to help children and families practice articulation and language targets at home and incorporate music into learning.
