Katelyn Swiader
MS Ed, CCC-SLP
Katelyn Swiader, MS Ed, CCC-SLP, is a speech-language pathologist specializing in vocal health and performance. She holds a master’s in speech-language pathology and a bachelor’s in vocal performance, with over 15 years of voice coaching experience. With a background as a professional singer, she provides comprehensive voice care for singers and speakers at her company, Sound Waves Voice & Communication (www.soundwavesvc.com, @soundwavesvc), through private voice and speaker coaching, voice therapy, and workshops.
As a speech-language pathologist specializing in voice and upper airway, Katelyn helped establish the ENT clinic at Old Dominion University’s Eastern Virginia Medical School and operated as the primary voice therapist alongside the laryngology team.
As the master coach with PN Medical (www.thebreather.com, @thebreather), Katelyn conducts regular in-services to train clinicians on respiratory muscle training using The Breather, works alongside the research team, and builds training and educational outreach with clinics internationally. Katelyn also participates in outreach events, educating young performers on vocal anatomy and healthy practices.
In early 2025, Katelyn launched “Sing, Play, Say!” (@singplaysay), a YouTube and social channel resource for children and families to practice articulation and language targets at home and to incorporate music through learning.
