Matt Daggett
DO, MBA
Dr. Matt Daggett is the founder and President of Sano Specialty Care, a board-certified and dual fellowship-trained orthopedic surgeon specializing in sports medicine, knee, and shoulder care. He founded Sano with a mission to improve musculoskeletal health, a pursuit that drives his commitment to technique innovation, which he continuously validates through research and patient outcomes. A leader in medical technology, Dr. Daggett leads the country in Needle Arthroscopy — a minimally invasive approach to treating knee and shoulder conditions without general anesthesia — and believes that better-individualized care will create a healthier Kansas City community.
Born and raised in Kansas City, MO, Dr. Daggett graduated from the University of Missouri-Columbia before earning his medical degree from KCU and an MBA in Healthcare Leadership from Rockhurst University. He completed his orthopedic residency in Kansas City, after which he pursued two fellowships to fulfill his goal of becoming a sports medicine physician: one at the American Sports Medicine Institute with Dr. Lemak in Birmingham, AL, and a prestigious shoulder fellowship with Dr. Gilles Walch and Dr. Lionel Neyton in Lyon, France.
With over 60 clinical articles to his name and collaborations with renowned international surgeons, Dr. Daggett has quickly established himself as a trusted voice in orthopedics. He is an expert in injury prevention, knee ligament injuries, and shoulder rotator cuff repair, and holds the distinction of being the only American member of the International SANTI Research Group on sports medicine injuries. He also serves as an Associate Clinical Professor at KCU and as Program Director for the Santi-Sano Sports Medicine Fellowship.
Beyond his clinical and research achievements, Dr. Daggett is known for the time and care he gives each patient — listening closely to their fears and concerns and working toward the best possible outcomes. Outside of work, he and his wife Laura are kept busy raising their four young children in Leawood, Kansas.
