Meghan Doherty

OTD, OTR/L

Dr. Meghan Doherty has been learning, working, and researching with individuals across the lifespan with neurological and functional cognitive conditions since 2008. She holds a Bachelor of Science from Truman State University, a Master's (2008), and a Doctorate (2016) in occupational therapy from Washington University in St. Louis. She has worked in diverse clinical settings, including adult and pediatric inpatient rehabilitation, acute pediatric care, and outpatient clinics. She has conducted clinical research to advance the profession’s understanding of assessments and treatments to improve every day life participation for individuals with functional cognitive impairment, as well as to self-manage chronic health conditions. Her publications reflect her work with individuals with cancer, stroke, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, as well as OT students. Additionally, Meghan has taught at the university level and to fellow rehabilitation professionals in her areas of expertise, and mentored the next generation of OT scholars at the master's and OTD levels. She is currently a research associate professor at the University of Missouri.
