Sarah Wakefield

Sarah Wakefield is an Associate Professor in the Department of Audiology in the Dr. Kiran C. Patel College of Health Care Sciences at Nova Southeastern University, where she also serves as Director of the Audiology Clinic. Dr. Wakefield specializes in Central Auditory Processing Disorders, tinnitus, sound sensitivity, counseling, and aural rehabilitation. She oversees clinical operations within the NSU Audiology Clinic, provides clinical precepting for audiology students, and teaches coursework in auditory processing, tinnitus, counseling, and aural rehabilitation. Her research, presentations, and professional interests focus on auditory processing, tinnitus, and the integration of mindfulness-based approaches into patient care. Dr. Wakefield has clinical experience in interdisciplinary clinics, private practice, and ENT/outpatient settings and is actively involved in community outreach initiatives, including support for the Special Olympics and Veteran Access Grant programs. She has presented at state and national conferences on auditory processing and tinnitus. Dr. Wakefield is affiliated with professional organizations including the American Academy of Audiology and the American Auditory Society.
