HOPE One Year Later: Lessons Learned for Hospice Leaders
Presented by Annette Lee and Anna Zimmerman
Description
A full year after the Hospice Outcomes and Patient Evaluation (HOPE) assessment and HOPE Update Visits (HUVs) took effect, hospice teams have moved from learning the new requirements to living with them every day. The focus now turns from completing each HOPE record to completing it accurately and consistently with CMS guidance.
Join Annette Lee, MS, RN, COS-C, HCS-D, for a look beyond the basics at the lessons hospices learned in HOPE’s first year, grounded in the CMS HOPE Guidance Manual and the quality measure specifications. You’ll hear which areas of the guidance cause the most confusion, how to separate established CMS requirements from industry interpretation, and where to focus education, auditing, and oversight as HOPE plays a larger role in hospice quality reporting.
