Description

*This webinar is scheduled for 6:00 PM ET / 3:00 PM PT

Interoception is the sensory system that helps us notice and interpret internal body signals such as muscle tension, hunger, heartbeat, temperature, or bladder fullness. These signals provide important information about our physical and emotional well-being and influence how we participate in daily life.

Differences in interoception are increasingly recognized across a wide range of populations and may affect self-regulation, mental health, learning, communication, relationships, and daily functioning. However, many healthcare and education professionals receive little formal training to understand or support this important sensory system.

This webinar explores the current science of interoception, translating research into practical theories and strategies that can be applied across clinical, educational, and community settings. Participants will examine common experiences that strengthen or disrupt interoceptive connection and learn practical ways to support body awareness, body trust, and self-understanding. The Interoception Curriculum will be introduced as one evidence-informed framework that illustrates these principles in practice, while emphasizing strategies that can be used regardless of whether the curriculum is available.
