(Live Podcast) Remote Therapeutic Monitoring (RTM) After the 2027 Physician Fee
Schedule Final Rule: Is Your Program Ready?

Presented by Alice Bell, Jon Ide-Don, and Andrew Mickus

Description

This is a live filming of a Medbridge podcast. In this dynamic session, you’ll have a front-row seat to listen in on the experts in conversation while also engaging with a vibrant community chat that gives you direct access to peers and leaders in a modern, accessible way.

The 2027 Medicare Physician Fee Schedule final rule sets the terms for remote therapeutic monitoring (RTM) in the year ahead. Whether your program is already running or you’re deciding whether to start one, you need to know what it means for you.

In this episode, we’re joined by Alice Bell, PT, DPT Senior Specialist of Health Policy and Payment at the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) to break down what changed, and what stayed the same, for RTM from 2026 to 2027. Alice shares APTA’s perspective on each RTM-related component of the final rule.

We then turn to the practical side: how the final rule may affect the different ways RTM is operationalized, what current RTM programs should adjust for 2027, and what clinical leaders and practices still standing up RTM should understand before they begin. We close with what else APTA is focused on within the final rule across digital health, telehealth, and payment policy.
