The ASHA DEI Requirement: What It Is and How to Meet It
July 3, 2024
4 min. read

On January 1, 2023, the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA) implemented a diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) certification maintenance requirement that applies to those who hold ASHA certificates for the January 1, 2023December 31, 2025 maintenance interval.
To maintain their ASHA certification, SLPs must now complete at least two professional development hours (PDHs) in cultural competency, cultural humility, culturally responsive practice, or diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI).
As part of our commitment to helping SLPs advance their careers and patient care, Medbridge offers a number of courses that will allow you to meet the ASHA DEI requirement.

Our extensive catalog of courses for SLPs includes courses that have been registered with ASHA under the specialty code 7030, which corresponds with the DEI requirement.
