Fuel for Thought: The Nutritional Keys for
Cognitive Health (Recorded Webinar)
Presented by Leslie Bonci and Roberta Anding
This course is a recording of a previously hosted live webinar event. Polling and question submission features are not available for this recording. Format and structure may differ from those of standard Medbridge courses.
Brain health has long been overlooked as an area of clinical nutrition education. As consumers become interested in the prevention of chronic illness, practitioners should have the most current, evidenced-based information on the role of nutrition in optimizing brain health. Additionally, chronic illness, both metabolic and neurogenerative, can have an impact on brain function, and the role of nutrition cannot be understated. Nutrition principles integrated with appropriate supplementation will be addressed.
Learning Objectives
- Formulate the principles of optimal nutrition for brain health
- Critique the current popular diets and their role in brain metabolism
- Consider the dietary supplements promoting cognitive health
- Integrate the principles of nutrition and cognitive health to enhance meal planning and preparation for individuals with neurodegenerative conditions
