Chapters & learning objectives
1. Reassessment
This chapter focuses on the importance of reassessing patient status with objective and functional measures to determine the efficacy of the occupational therapy treatment at hand, with a special emphasis on how to determine if daily modification of treatment tasks is needed. Danielle Keyser explains the necessity of using specific objective measures to dose exercises and provide evidence-based treatment, while emphasizing the importance of concrete evidence of progression to the patient.

Participants will come to understand the significance of periodic monitoring of physical capabilities and client feedback of performance throughout a session, as well as the role of family and social support outside of the therapy session.
3. Planning for Further Sessions
How is a client to know when further treatment is needed? Danielle Keyser provides an overview of the importance of providing specific and concrete feedback to the client regarding status, strengths, opportunities for improvement in the daily treatment session, and in relation to the duration of the treatment plan.
