Presented by Jennifer Kennedy
Big changes are coming to Medicare hospice care. CMS is mandating hospice providers utilize a CMS-developed standardized assessment tool for all patients in their care. This is the first regulatory requirement of this kind since the establishment of the Medicare Hospice Benefit in 1983. The implementation of the HOPE assessment tool is the future pathway for how hospice providers will be paid and measured.
