This webinar explores how rehabilitation and performance professionals can apply their clinical skills and foundational knowledge within industrial work environments. Designed for athletic trainers, occupational therapists, physical therapists, and other clinicians with experience in either competitive athletic settings or industrial care, the session emphasizes effective communication and trust-building with both workers and management. Key considerations related to worker confidentiality and appropriate communication boundaries will be addressed, including the application of the HIPAA Privacy Rule. The webinar will also review OSHA first aid–level care and highlight the importance of early injury intervention to promote workforce health and safety.

Learning Objectives

  • Determine the most effective method of communicating with management while maintaining worker confidentiality in accordance with professional and ethical standards
  • Examine the most efficient method to address ethical and professional challenges when supporting the worker while being employed by the client
  • Implement strategies that promote trust of both the worker and client to support collaborative occupational engagement in the workplace
  • Distinguish between OSHA first aid care and medical treatment for recordable injuries
  • Analyze the components of the HIPAA Privacy Rule and their application to the industrial work setting
