In this chapter, we demonstrate the motor examination of the client with parkinsonism as completed for diagnosis. This examination is then applied to case examples. The role of diagnostic modalities, including imaging and biomarkers, is examined, and medical management is discussed.
4. Outcome Measures for Parkinsonian Syndromes
In this chapter, we discuss the use of validated outcome measures recommended for use in clients with parkinsonian disorders. Case scenarios are utilized to demonstrate selection of outcome measures based on individual client presentation, including those with rare parkinsonian disorders.
