Pediatric pelvic health covers patients from birth through 18 years old. While there is a specific treatment algorithm for patients under the age of 13, there are several diagnoses that are unique to those between the ages of 13 and 18. This course will cover mainly female adolescent pelvic health diagnoses and the different techniques needed for pelvic health professionals to treat this special population. Learners will understand the complexities of each diagnosis and design an appropriate evaluation and treatment program for these patients. Also, because health literacy is so important for this population, the course will discuss the importance of improving educational offerings for the adolescent with pelvic health disorders. This course will also briefly discuss the treatment of neurologically involved adolescents with pelvic floor issues.
