Patients with neurologic dysfunction can present with a variety of bowel and bladder issues that are unique to this patient population. Many pelvic floor therapists may not be aware of how each neurologic issue can affect the bowel and bladder. This course will explore the central nervous system and how disorders can create bowel, bladder, and pelvic floor issues in a patient. Evaluation strategies, tests, and measures will be discussed and demonstrated. Treatment strategies will be discussed and demonstrated with long-term treatment plans. Participants will also gain knowledge on appropriate education needed in this population to improve health literacy as well as bowel and bladder habits.
