Whether adults who are elderly or vulnerable or children, you may have patients who are experiencing abuse or neglect. The role of healthcare staff in identifying and responding to potential abuse and neglect of people who are vulnerable is important for their safety, health and long-term well-being.
In this course, you'll learn about identifying and responding to domestic violence and elder or child abuse or neglect. Finally, the course will discuss ways to reduce the risk of abuse or neglect by healthcare workers and reporting procedures for different kinds of abuse and neglect.
This course helps meet federal regulatory standard A-0145 for hospitals as well as other federal regulations requiring that patients be free of abuse and neglect in healthcare settings, federal requirements for mandated reporting of child abuse and neglect 34 USC ? 20341, and state mandatory reporting laws for abuse or neglect of children or adults who are elderly or vulnerable.
