Everyone has the right to a harassment-free work environment. During this course, participants will learn about the laws that protect them from sexual harassment, review the definition and types of sexual harassment, practice how to identify sexual harassment as it happens through the application of practical scenarios, and understand what to do if they are the target of sexual harassment. Elements specific to the healthcare workplace will also be discussed.

Course Objectives
1. Distinguish between the two primary categories of sexual harassment: quid pro quo and hostile environment
2. Recognize the laws and regulatory body that offer protections against workplace sexual harassment
3. Understand the steps to take when encountering or witnessing harassment, emphasizing the importance of documentation and appropriate reporting channels
4. Apply best practices to cultivate a respectful and safe work environment, considering both colleague and patient-provider dynamics

This training is designed to help organizations and individuals follow federal nondiscrimination laws related to harassment, enforced by the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission. It also addresses the nondiscrimination regulatory standards outlined in 45 CFR Part 92 Subpart A that enforce Section 1557 of the Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act. The course was not designed to meet any specific state regulations.
