In this chapter, we will discuss the various components that must be considered in ICD-10 coding in hospice, as well as strategies to differentiate between primary, secondary, and comorbid diagnoses. Additionally, this chapter will review strategies for obtaining information necessary for accurate coding of the hospice patient.
