Changes don't come easy. It is a process that is hard for everybody, but it is especially difficult for older adults. Oftentimes, life circumstance necessitates a change in environment. In this course we will identify the timing of moving out of the home, the types of options available, and the emotional impact of making a changes for yourself, friends, and family.

1. When It’s Time to Move

Chapter one will discuss issues that will impact a senior’s ability to stay in their home and as a clinician how to know when it is time for them to leave.

2. Defining the Various Living Arrangements

Join us as we review the pros and cons of different types of living arrangements / costs/ etc. By assessing the means of choosing the best fit for his or her living situation and the different types of arrangements there are for the older adult.

3. Making the Transition

In this chapter we will discuss the emotional impact as well as the details of moving. We'll solve the ways to overcome resistance. And provide a concrete process for doing the move.

4. Financial Considerations

Finally, we'll review the financial impact of moving, the need for benefit filing, the impact of long term care insurance, and the impact on the estate plan.
