1. Impact of OASIS

OASIS data impacts the clinical quality and financial performance of home health agencies. This chapter will provide the clinician with a working knowledge of what happens to OASIS data after it is completed.

2. OASIS Instructions

Accurate OASIS data collection requires clinicians to have a working knowledge of the official instructions for each item. This chapter will examine the OASIS guidance manual and how quarterly Q&As; factor into data collection.

3. Key Definitions

As OASIS is a discipline-neutral data collection instrument, the terms used do not always align with how clinicians are trained to assess patients. This chapter will address key definitions in practical terms to set clinicians up for success with OASIS data collection.
