This course provides an overview of the waste management process in a healthcare facility. It discusses the types of waste generated in a healthcare facility, the signs and symbols that alert staff to the presence of a hazard, and the types of containers that are appropriate for collecting waste. Learners also walk through the waste life cycle so they can understand their role in effectively managing waste in their facility.
The course concludes with handling medical waste in the home.
