This course provides information for all staff about the Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) process in hospice organizations. QAPI is an ongoing, collaborative and proactive approach to improving patient care, safety, and palliative care outcomes. In this course, you will see an example QAPI process in action, learn why QAPI is important, and explore fundamental elements.
Objectives:
1) Describe the types of issues QAPI should address in hospice care
2) Explain the importance of QAPI in hospice care
3) Identify core elements of QAPI plans per CMS
4) Describe actions employees can take to get involved in QAPI
