Denise Stanford is CFE Executive Director and is passionate about the impact of education and training on quality improvement in healthcare. As someone who has required community-based healthcare services for loved ones, Stanford understands the importance of high-quality care … and services. Stanford personally experienced how education and training can transform an individual's life and the lives of those they touch. Working as an educator in community-based healthcare for nearly a decade, she greatly enjoys creating learning experiences that engage learners and teach real-time skills that can be immediately applied on the job. With a master's degree in Adult Learning, she develops workshops and e-learning for healthcare professionals and focused training for community members. In her role at CFE, she helps craft meaningful learning experiences and oversees the operation of the department.

Kanda Wurm, MSN, RN

Site Visitor at CHAP

Kanda Wurm is a Registered Nurse with an Associate Degree in Nursing from Southeast Community College, a Bachelor Degree in Nursing from Chamberlain College of Nursing, and Master of Science in Nursing: Nurse Educator from Chamberlain College of Nursing. Kanda has over … 30 years of nursing experience with the last 12 years focused on hospice care. Prior to joining CHAP as a site visitor, she worked as a Clinical Standards Manager and utilized her knowledge of the hospice conditions of participation to prepare multiple offices for their survey. Kanda also developed and presented education related to hospice compliance, QAPI, and HIPAA. In her two years with CHAP Kanda has performed site visits for hospice agencies and surveyed for life safety code compliance for in-patient facilities. She also performed complaint visits, focus visits, and palliative care certification visits. For the last year Kanda has been a preceptor and was a super-user during the implementation of the new site visitor documentation tool.
