As vital as quality reporting is to a hospice agency's bottom line, some agencies continue to submit HIS data late or not at all. This penalizes the agency 2% of its revenue, beginning two fiscal years ahead. In addition, HIS-Discharge opens agencies to scrutiny when documentation is incorrect and contradicts data on hospice claims. This course instructs on accurate HIS-Discharge data capture, document completion, submission to CMS, and acceptance of the data by CMS's QIES ASAP system. Hospice clinical managers, administrators, administrative assistants, and registered nurses will benefit from this course, as will anyone who contributes to data gathering for the HIS-Discharge.
